To build spiritual movements so that every student on every campus has the chance to know and follow Jesus Christ. We look forward to a day when students are not just entertained and "kept happy" but are boldly challenged to live a consistent life of discipleship. Not just spending time in the Word themselves but also investing in the lives of other people. We look forward to a day when these teenagers care more about another person's soul than their own comfort.
There are five steps we will take to build a campus movement...
1. Trusting the Lord to Reach the Whole Campus
"I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." - Jesus (John 4:35)
We are students of the campus, learning how students relate in the context of many smaller groups on campus: classes, clubs, cliques and teams, and reaching teens in the context of these group relationships as well as through campus-wide outreaches.
For a vision this big, it's going to have to be God's work. We want to fully rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill this vision.
2. Connecting with Students
Develop trust through love and truth.
We want these kids to know that we are going to be there through the good and hard times of their lives. When they lose a loved one, their parents get divorced, or their teams go the championship or maybe high school drama lands in their lap! Whatever the case, we want to walk through life with the high school students. Much of our time will be spent on hanging out with high school students.
3. Bringing Students to Christ
"Win" - The first part of Campus Crusade's main strategy. We want to lead countless students to a real relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. Building Students in Their Faith
"Build" - Equip teenagers through the Word and life-on-life discipleship.
We don't want these kids to just say a prayer and live a good moral life. We want them to comprehend the depth of the love Christ that they can experience on a daily basis. We desperately want to teach these kids how important it is to spend time reading God's Word and praying to their Creator. It's great when students come to our Monday night meetings, our weekly Bible studies and our summer and winter conferences, but the foundation for their faith will reside in their time spent with the Lord on a day to day basis.
5. Sending Students to Students to Bring Others to Christ
"Send" - Help teenagers invest their lives in the Great Commission.
We challenge the students to intentionally and verbally share the Gospel with those around them. It's not something we force on them but we give them opportunities through our outreaches to different groups of the school, dedicated times of evangelism in town as well as when we are at our summer and winter conferences.
